101 Artist’s Cement is a versatile, archival acrylic cement with superior adhering attributes. It dries to an opaque, matte, carvable and extremely durable finish that is resistant to water, chemicals and UV rays. 101 Heavy dries to a very hard and sandable finish. 101 Light has more flexibility when dry. Suggested uses include dimensional stencilling, stucco and fresco effects, creating textural peaks and adhering virtually any art or craft materials.

Features & Benefits:

Archival Acid-Free: Fine art materials and acid free papers maintain their original integrity because 101 is acid free and archival.

UV Resistant: 101 provides excellent protection from UV light rays which discolor and fade artwork, paper, photography, flower and paints.

Water Resistant: 101 is a particularly useful cement for artwork not placed under protective glass. It is excellent for arts and crafts that must be in moisture laden areas, and has excellent wipeability for ease in cleaning.

Strong: 101 is an excellent cement when strength and durability are an issue. It will adhere most any object to any surface.

Non-toxic: 101 is an excellent cement when an artist’s quality material must be used and there is a issue with chemical or product sensitivities.

Flexible: 101 remains flexible yet durable when dry. This allows for many applications in difficult areas of home accent application or when used on flexible surfaces.

101 – Heavy Uses
Attributes: smooth, creamy, hard, sandable, heavy-bodied

As a Cement – Use 101 Heavy to adhere glass, metal, paper, wood, cardboard, plastics and found objects. Its heavy body Is perfect for adhering irregular materials without a weight, brace or clamp. 101 Heavy may be colored with acrylics, dry pigments, etc. for use in mosaic work and when the cement is visible.

As a Stencil Paste – Ideal for large spaces or small areas, use a small trowel or palette knife to spread 101 Heavy over any stencil, including large wall stencils, embossing stencils and paper stencils. Carefully lift the stencil. Options: while wet: it will hold embellishing powders such as mica flakes or gilding. Burnish when dry.

Faux Plaster Carving – Apply 101 Heavy to any surface, such as wood, ¾" foam board, etc. and use a boxwood tool, palette knife, the end of a paint brush or any other tool to carve and manipulate the cement. Let dry and paint, gild or stain.

Stamping Medium: In thin applications on hard surfaces interesting stamping effects can be achieved.

101 – Light Uses

Attributes: flexible, holds high peaks, carvable, lightweight, water-resistant.

As a cement – Use 101 Light to adhere glass, metal, paper, wood and any other art or craft material. Its light body is perfect for canvas work, with layer upon layer, not adding unnecessary weight. 101 Light may be colored with acrylics, dry pigments, etc. for use in artwork when the cement is visible.

For texture – 101 Light holds textured peaks extremely well. Apply 101 to a surface and tap the wet cement with a palette knife, brush or any other tool to create peaks.

Fresco effects – 101 Light is airy and fluffy. Spread a smooth layer onto a surface and let dry. It dries with a stucco-like texture perfect for faux finishing.
