DIY Cookie Cutters for Polymer Clay –
See how I made my own metal (cookie) cutters by upcycling some seasonal ones from the clearance rack
You’ve got to just love the creative brain right?
I’m sure you’ve probably experienced this before, you’re walking along minding your own business when suddenly an idea comes from nowhere and takes over your thoughts.
That’s what happened to me one day while I was walking through our neighborhood grocery store. Out of the corner of my eye I just happened to notice some snowman cookie cutters on the clearance cart.
I wasn’t looking for snowman cookie cutters
I wasn’t looking for anything except groceries.
But when an idea hits, as you probably well know, you have to pay attention to it (we aren’t even given a choice.)
So, You guessed it, I snapped up a handful of cookie cutters for about 60 cents each and as soon as I had time, I took them down to my studio and started to play. That’s all it was. I didn’t know where it would lead I didn’t even know if my ideas would be possible.
All I knew is that I was having fun exploring my idea and before I knew it, I had a few pairs of earrings made from my very own organic shapes.
These shapes soon became my favourites so I wanted to share what I learned with you.
I hope you’ll be inspired to make your own unique cutters after watching the short video below.
