February is here and you know what that means, hearts, love, hearts and more hearts (plus a bit of chocolate.)
I thought you might enjoy seeing a slightly different spin on working with hearts.
I used the CaBezel jewelry molds to create them all. Find the heart shaped Cabezel called Amor, the All-in-one Heart and Paramount.
The entire line of CaBezels are here.
While we still have the Valentine’s Day vibe going…here is the link to a very simple slideshow I created years ago showing how you can create a ring or trinket dish using very few items.
If you don’t have a heart shaped cookie cutter just wing it. You’ll need something curved like this metal bowl to bake the heart on.
No Iced Enamels? Use PanPastel or Pearl Ex mica powder to add colour and sparkle to your clay….. Easy peasy.
Our great selection of O-rings can be found here.
We no longer carry the heart shaped cutters or the Iced Enamels that were used in the video but it’s a simple enough technique that you can just wing it with other products like the ones previously mentioned.
You can bake 2 hearts at the same time. Place the smaller one inside the metal bowl and the larger one on the outside.
Depending on what you choose to embellish the clay with, you may want to apply before baking.
And that’s it! Simple, fun, and love-ly.
If you try this tutorial, do let me know. I’d love to see how your little dishes turned out!

Here’s an update on Premo Sculpey and Souffle- We scored the very last of the Magenta Pearl. It is now discontinued. We also recieved more 1.7oz Igloo (white), Latte, Canary and Robin’s egg too.
Next week:
It looks like we will be getting some 2oz Cad Red and Pearl and also more 8oz Premo White.
Also Souffle, Raspberry and Cowboy.
Let’s hope the manufacturer is able to start manufacturing some of the colours we haven’t seen in a while 🙂
Just because there isn’t any Cad Red or Cherry Pie doesn’t mean that there aren’t lots of other options in the red and pink departments. Find the Premo Sculpey here, the Souffle here and the Cernit here.
