These safe, non-toxic, inert, powdered pigments create a metallic look without being a metal. They are lightfast, inert with a neutral pH, and will not tarnish or fade. We offer 40 colors with an infinite number of uses. They can be mixed into any viscous medium: oil, acrylic, gouache, varnish and clay or they may be spread dry on porous surfaces. Their temperature resistance allows them to be fired in a kiln up to 600 degrees. 16 of the colors are pearlescent. 5 colors are interference pigments. 3 are duo-colors that display a two tone quality depending on the light angle. Use the Pearl-Ex whites (Pearl White, Micro Pearl, Macro Pearl) with pigments or artist colors for a bright metallic range.
Fabric/Fiber/Surfaces
Polymer clay, encaustics, paper, shrink plastic, leather, glass, canvas, wood, and more! Mix with a binder to use on natural and synthetic fibers. Note: Pearl Ex Powdered Pigments were specifically developed as an art material. They are NOT for cosmetic use.
