Stepping Into My Third Act – Turning the big 6-0
This month I turn 60 — a milestone that still feels both surprising and deeply grounding.
Jane Fonda once described this season of life as the beginning of the “third act,” and the more I sit with that idea, the more it resonates.
It feels like a new chapter with more clarity, more confidence, and an even deeper appreciation for the creative life I get to live every day.
For years, my world has revolved around making — clay, colour, texture, textiles, the tiny experiments in a sketchbook that no one ever sees. And somehow, reaching 60 has brought all of those pieces into sharper focus.
I find myself reflecting not just on the work I’ve made, but on the joy of the process itself: the quiet mornings in the studio, the hum of the pasta machine, the first stroke of paint across a blank page.
To celebrate this milestone in a meaningful way, I wanted to mark it with something special — so my Scratching the Surface workshop will be available from December 18th to December 31st for just $60, in honour of turning 60.
If you’d like to take a look, you can find the workshop details here and decide if it’s right for you.
And just like I shared in my newsletter, you don’t need anything fancy to begin.
If you already work with polymer clay, you likely have most of what you need.
The only extras you may need are:
- Wood blanks
A lino cutter or similar mark-making tool - Black Premo clay
- A few favourite acrylic paint colours
- A bit of bakeable clay adhesive
I hope this next chapter is full of colour, curiosity, and creative permission — for both of us.
Thanks for being here.
